TELLURIDE, Colo. (February 17, 2025) — Telluride Brewing Co. earned a gold medal at the 2025 Colorado Brewers Cup beer competition, hosted and presented by the Colorado Brewers Guild. In the 2025 competition, beers spanning 26 categories were professionally judged by 58 judges from across the U.S.
Awards at the Colorado Brewers Cup are recognized as a mark of brewing excellence in the state. Beers that win are considered the top examples of their style category in Colorado.
Telluride Brewing Co. was recognized in the Malty North American Beers category, subcategory American-Style Brown Ale for its Face Down Brown, which boasts a rich malt backbone with notes of chocolate, toffee, and a hint of nuttiness, balanced by a crisp, clean hop finish. Face Down Brown has a strong legacy of recognition, including World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival awards, and remains a fan favorite across Colorado.

Thanks to a panel of 58 judges from across the nation, the first annual Colorado Brewers Cup competition analyzed 650 entries over three days of judging. The 2025 competition saw entries from 134 breweries across Colorado.

The 2025 medal winners were unveiled during an intimate ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency in Aurora on Friday, January 24, 2025, as part of the annual Colorado Craft Brewers Summit hosted by the Colorado Brewers Guild.
